Obituary for Kathy M. Kopas
Kathy Maureen (Henry) Kopas, age 68, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 in Commerce Michigan after courageously fighting a lengthy illness.
Kathy was born January 24, 1948 in Flint Michigan to Edward N. and E. Arlene (DeFord) Henry. Kathy grew up in Detroit, and for the last 24 years has been a resident of Highland MI. She was formerly employed as a shipping Supervisor for an automotive parts company. She enjoyed bird watching, crafting designer cards and gifts, collectibles, journaling and fashion. She was an eloquent writer who warmed the heart and brought tears to the eyes. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her love, compassion, concern and generosity for her family and for her strong determination to never give up.
She is survived by her three sons, Matthew J. Kopas, Michael E. Kopas, and Patrick W. (Linda) Kopas; Six grandchildren; Kassandra Thompson, Amanda, Alisha, Angelina, Austin and Draven Kopas; Three great grandchildren; Dominic Thompson, Lucianna Brown and Chelsea Ann Fields. Also surviving a sister, Diana (Gary) Catlin and brother Patrick (Karen) Henry and her devoted partner of 28 years, Craig Culbertson.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St, Milford on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10 AM, with visiting beginning at 9 AM. Burial Clayton Township Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 5-8 PM.
