Obituary for Keith James Lyddy

Keith James Lyddy was born on February 8, 1929, to Samuel and Arminta ( Linck ) Lyddy in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Redford High School and went on to attend college. Keith later joined the US Navy Reserves, where he served for many years and was honorably discharged.

Keith loved the out-of-doors, and participated in many sports, including skiing, archery, and golf. He was a dedicated Red Wings hockey and a University of Michigan football fan. He also loved and excelled in photography, and was an American History buff.

He was very successful at whatever he did, which carried him into three careers over his lifetime. Keith was a commercial artist, and owned and operated his own art firm in Detroit. He later became a landman for Shell Oil Company for 10 years, in which he secured mineral rights leasing for the company. Keith also spent 16 years working for Comerica Bank as a security guard, where he met his wife, Jean. They were married on April 15, 2000 in Waterford, Michigan.

When not at their home in Milford, Keith and Jean enjoyed time away at their place in Arizona. Together they did a lot of traveling, and loved visiting relatives and friends. Family was very important to Keith, and he embraced, with love, both his immediate and extended family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean; daughter, Linda (Donald) Cook, son, Craig Lyddy and their mother, Jackie Stehler; step-daughter, Beth (Kevin) Chudler; step-sons, Lance Miral, David (Mary) Miral; grandchildren, Nick (Judi) Stanger, Cristy Stanger, Josh Cook, Kyle and Ethan Chudler, Lauren and Jenna Miral; brother, Leo (Betty) Lyddy; nieces, Kim DiSalle, Barbara Gianinni; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Donna Jean Hauri and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, on Friday, January 16th at 2PM, with Chaplain Charles Farrar officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
