Kenneth Dee Jenkinson, age 69 of Milford, passed away peacefully at his home on December 11, 2013.
Born September 9, 1944 in Pontiac, MI, Ken was one of two children born to parents Delos and Irene Jenkinson. As a young man, Ken had great love for his Quarter Horse�Ken was known throughout Union Lake for delivering his paper route via horseback. His love for equestrian carried on throughout his life; he owned and rode horses for many years at his home.
Ken was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at Adrian College from which he graduated in 1966. Ken was a teacher of the Huron Valley School System 1967-1997, primarily at Milford High in the English Department and taught Driver�s Education and was the Student Activities Director. Ken also coached 9th grade girls� softball and basketball. In the early 1980�s, Ken enjoyed being a part of the Men�s Classic Bowling League at which he bowled a proud 300! Equipped with a large workshop in his home, Ken was a woodworker often creating furniture and also toy chests and doll beds for the grandchildren. While active with the Milford Jaycees, Ken held various offices within the organization and was instrumental in the completion of multiple community projects. Ken also joined the Jaycees for their Summer Slow-Pitch league many summers in a row. He was happy to be co-owner, along with his sister Mary, of Paschke�s Corners, LLC on Union Lake Road in White Lake.
Preceded in death by his father, Delos Kenneth Jenkinson, (d.1986).
In addition to Marcia Lee Jenkinson, his beloved wife of 47 years, Ken is survived by his sons Paul Dee (Sheila) Jenkinson and David Lord (Valerie) Jenkinson; granddaughters Hannah Jenkinson and Hope Jenkinson; grandson David Kenneth Jenkinson; mother Irene Jenkinson; sister Mary Dee (J.R.) Polio and nieces Julie Haapala and Lisa Lemieux.
Funeral Service to be held from Oak Pointe Church Milford, 1250 South Hill Road Milford, on Monday, December 16th at 11 AM. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford Sunday from 3-8 PM.
