Lawrence "Larry" E. Cronk of Linden died on July 3, 2009. He was 56 years old, born on October 24, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Bessie Ingram Cronk. Larry grew up in Hazel Park, Utica, and Pontiac. Following graduation from Waterford Township High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving his country in the Army Corp of Engineers. Returning home from military service, he began his career as a residential home builder and continued for over twenty-five years operating L.E. Cronk Builders. Larry was a proud member of the Carpenter's Union and liked working with his hands.
Larry married Kathy Kulesza on January 30, 1971. Mr. and Mrs. Cronk were blessed with the births of four children: Angie, Beth, Kirsten and Ben and 5 grandchildren. Big on family and very loving, Dad was always there, giving very wise and helpful advice. Family memories are of the talented story teller and joker, spending times together out-of-doors and camping around the bonfire.
There was an energy around Larry; when he made up his mind there was determination in everything he did. Always optimistic, the day of his surgery he said, "It's been a wild ride, I wouldn't change a thing."
In addition to Kathy, his beloved wife for over 38 years, he is survived by daughters, Angie (Brett) Beugin of Milford, Beth (Kirk) Thompson of Linden, Kirsten Cronk of Milford, son Ben Cronk of Milford; grandchildren, Adam (Jessica) Landmesser,, Jack Beugin, Aubrey Beugin, Zoe and Lacey Thompson; his mother, Bessie Cronk; brothers, Bruce (Linda) Cronk, Keith (Pam) Cronk, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Cronk, brothers, Michael (Susan) Cronk, Bryan (Marlene) Cronk, and a sister, Suzanne Cronk.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, on Tuesday, July 7th, at 7PM. Friends may visit Tuesday 3PM until time of service. Memorials may be made in his name to Habitat for Humanity or to your local hospice. The Cronk family would like to thank Dr. Silver and all the nurses for the loving care given them at Genesys Hospital. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.
