Obituary for Linda Karen Blouin

Linda Karen Blouin of Milford, died at home in the comfort of her family on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was 62 years old. Linda was born on July 13, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the youngest of three children to Henry and Freda Luker (Mayer). As a child Linda played piano, was active in sports and loved visiting her grandparents’ farm in southern Illinois. She grew up in St. Louis until her family moved to Redford, Michigan in June of 1967. She graduated from Redford Union High School in 1972, then achieved an associate’s degree from Schoolcraft College.
In the summer of 1974 she met Don Blouin, whom she married in July of 1980. The two lived in Livonia for a few years before building a house in Milford where they raised their two sons, Brian and Kevin. She was immensely proud of her sons and loved being a mother more than anything. She enjoyed attending her boy’s sporting events, teaching at summer vacation bible school and going on summer trips to her parents’ cottage in Lexington. After the boys were school-age, Linda went to work as a para-educator for Huron Valley Schools until retiring from Highland Elementary in 2014.
After retirement Linda loved to read and go shopping in Milford, especially for her daughters-in-law. She always made a point of sending cards to friends and family regardless of the occasion. Her family always noted her generosity, as she enjoyed buying goods to donate to Community Sharing. Her and Don also loved to go on trips up north with close friends. She was a life-long Lutheran and member at St. Matthews in Walled Lake since 1987.

In addition to Don, her beloved husband of 36 years, Linda is survived by her sons, Brian (Lindsay) Blouin and Kevin (Adrienne) Blouin; granddaughter, Reagan; brothers, Dennis (Frances) Luker and Ron Luker as well as extended family and friends.
