GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Be the first to share your favorite memory, photo or story of Lonnie. This memorial page is dedicated for family, friends and future generations to celebrate the life of their loved one.
We ask on behalf of the family that you keep your comments uplifting and appropriate to help all who come here to find comfort and healing.
Lonnie Carl Lantrip, a resident of Hartland Township since 1992, and a former resident of Detroit, died on February 10, 2011. He was 70 years old. Born in Corktown, Detroit, Michigan, on November 17, 1940, he was the son of Lonnie and Selma Lantrip and grew up in Detroit where he was a graduate of McKenzie High School. Lonnie worked for the Liquid Carbonic Corporation in Detroit at 96 and Evergreen for many years.
Quite the guy, Lonnie, ever a player, won the heart of the beautiful Kathleen Kotrys and they married in Las Vegas on June 18, 1988. Whether it was betting on ponies at the race track, or on the chips around the table, Lonnie loved time spent partying with his buddies. A kind man, he would help anyone if he could and that generous spirit was never more evident than in the care he gave to his own father.
In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by his son, Lonnie Brandon Lantrip, his sister, Betty Cockerham and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A Memorial Wake will take place at Forbidden Wheels, 11546 Grand River, Brighton 48116 on Sunday, February 27th from 1-3 PM.
