Obituary for Lynn William Warren, Jr.

Lynn William Warren, Jr., 1956-2022

Lynn William Warren, Jr., 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 20, 2022. He was born in Pontiac on July 10, 1956 to the late Lynn William Warren and Barbara (Bardsley) Warren. He was raised in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1974.

Lynn was employed as a city mail carrier by the Milford Post Office. He retired with 41 years of faithful service in 2021. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Cummiford, in 1987 and welcomed their daughters Kaitlin in 1988 and Heather in 1992. He took great pride in his home overlooking Kensington Park that had been in the family for many years.

Lynn’s greatest joy was being with his family. His wife and daughters were the center of his life. They had just celebrated him on Father’s Day by kayaking in Kensington and enjoying his favorite dinner.

In addition, Lynn loved being outside in nature. He liked nothing better than spending time hiking or paddling with his family and their pets. He enjoyed golf and watching the wildlife that came up to the house. He loved listening to music and was an avid disc golf player who always carried his bag of discs in search of a game.  He liked to travel with his daughters on outdoor adventures. His family and the beautiful land of his childhood and adult life was most important to him.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Shirley, and daughters, Kaitlin and Heather. Lynn is survived by Susan Linton, Karen Warren (Sue Tippett), Teresa Cummiford, Kim Bozyk (Jim), Debra Cronin (David), Sean Cummiford and many nieces and nephews. His faithful companions Koda, Aggie, Peaches, and Big C will miss him greatly.

There will be no funeral but a celebration of Lynn’s life will take place later in the summer. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the family for a memorial bench honoring Lynn, placed in his beloved Kensington Park.
