Obituary for Marianne Henn

Marianne Henn, a longtime resident of Highland, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous, valiant fight with ovarian cancer. She was born on March 25, 1940 in Yugoslavia to Josef and Theresia Armbruster.

Her passion for servant leadership led her to the creation of an International Christian quilting ministry at St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she was able to influence and inspire the international community with her faith, knowledge and quilts for over 20 years.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Arnold Henn; their daughters, Heidi (Ken) McLean, Helga Henn and Charlotte (Joe) Sobas; grandchildren, Jessica, Julia and Nathan McLean, Nicholas and Christopher Sobas; brothers, Josef and Sam (Chris) Armbruster; sister-in-law, Helen Danchenko North and many nieces, nephews and extended family here and in Germany.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2040 S. Commerce Road, Walled Lake on May 9, 2015 at 4 PM with gathering beginning at 3 PM. Pastor Paul Moldenhauer to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Lutheran World Relief, 700 Light Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21230.
