Obituary for Marilyn Joyce Krick

Marilyn Joyce Krick, age 77, of Gladwin & formerly of Walled Lake, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at her home.

Marilyn Joyce McKinstry was born to Lloyde and Beatrice in Auburn Heights, Michigan, on September 12, 1933. She grew up and went to school in Pontiac, Michigan. There, in junior high school she met Donald Krick. It was not long before they fell in love and were married, Donald eighteen and Joyce sixteen years old. She quickly entered nursing school and graduated at the top of her class which Joyce and her family were very proud of. Determination and dedication were character traits she displayed throughout her entire life, starting with nursing school, carrying thru to keeping a home and raising five children. Joyce was a true display of a caregiver. She passionately cared for everyone, especially her family and animals. She generously donated to many causes and organizations, and would anonymously leave packages and gifts on her friends porches. After losing Donald in 1992 she never wanted to be a burden to anyone. Joyce was strong, her independence and of course, determination were seen for the twenty years she kept a home and twenty acres of land by herself.

Joyce leaves her family with memories of pool parties and backyard BBQs. All the family gatherings at their home in Walled Lake and up north. Her warm heart and nurturing care will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have met or known Joyce.
