Obituary for Marilyn Suzanne "Suzie" Genovese

Marilyn Suzanne Genovese (Cole), age 69 of Grass Lake, passed away on November 5, 2016, surrounded by family and while holding the hand of her daughter, Debbie. She had courageously fought ovarian cancer for the past six years.

“Suzie”, as she was known to most everyone, was a beautiful soul and loved her family dearly, especially her two beloved grandchildren, Charlie and Lilly, who affectionately called her “Grammie”. She was a friend to everyone she met, and this was evident as she declined, when neighbors and old friends alike reached out to her and our family, offering help during this difficult time. She loved life, loved to have fun and loved to travel and camp, frequently traveling to Florida and Northern Michigan, with her best friend and significant other Tom Anderson, whom she was together with for almost thirty years. She loved Tom and considered Tom’s children, grandchildren and siblings her family as well.

She is now in Heaven with her sister, Doreen Lillian and her parents, Earl and Lillian Cole. She is survived by her loving children David (Michelle) Zucchetto, Debbie (Bill) Thornton and Kristen Genovese. She is also survived by her brothers Philip Cole, Gregory (Ann) Cole and Johnny (Ginny) Cole, her beloved grandchildren Charlie and Lilly (Thornton) along with her beloved nieces and nephews Meredith, Alan, Brendan and Danielle. She also leaves behind many Aunts and Cousins, whom she loved and kept in touch with on a regular basis.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Thursday, November 10, from 9AM to 10:45AM, in procession to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce Rd., Milford, for Mass of the Resurrection at 11AM. Memorials may be made in her name to a charity of your choice. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.

Flowers may be ordered from Blossoms on Main, 245 N. Main St., Milford, 248-685-1685.
