Obituary for Marion Strzelecki

Marion Strzelecki ('nee Morgan), a longtime resident of Detroit and Highland, Michigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. She was 92 years old.

Marion enjoyed reading, both as a hobby and an ‘escape’. She loved movies and chocolate ice cream. She was a great cook, enjoyed social activities and spending time with friends and family. Marion was always compassionate, considerate, and gave far more than she ever asked in return. Loved by many, she will be sorely missed by everyone whose life she touched.

She is survived by her six children, Meg (Tim) McAree, Ron (Margaret), Steve (Michele), Greg (Terri), Sue (Ralph) Gimpel, Mike (Michelle); grandchildren, Adam McAree (Mina Gavell), Jill (Rick) McAree Nossa, Lauren (Thomas) Nash, Morgan Grondin, Kayla (Josh) Pool, Jessica (Aaron) Ash, Tori and Jake Gimpel, Brian, Danielle, David (Lauren); 5 great-granddaughters, Ella and Zoe Nossa; Peyton Nash, Emerson Nash, and Murphy Grondin.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George, in 2015; and her siblings, Marguerite (Jack) Itnyre, Annamay Morgan, and Robert Morgan.


A private Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (the Little Church), 2099 N. Hacker Rd, Howell. Fr. Francis George officiating. Burial will take place following the Mass at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery
