Obituary for Mark Allen Miller

Mark Allen Miller, a resident of Milford Township, died on October 27, 2010 at the age of 53 years old. Born on May 4, 1957 in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of Ralph Bing and Jeanette (Hood) Miller. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering from General Motors Institute (now called Kettering University) in 1980. Shortly after graduating, be began pursuit of his law degree. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron in 1985. He moved to Michigan in February 1987 and went to work for the U.S. Army at the Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, Michigan, where he met and fell in love with Kathy Dymecki. For 23 years he and his beloved Kath have been together and on March 3, 2009, they finally married during one of their annual trips to Jamaica.

Mark left TACOM in 1990 for his first job as an attorney, serving as a law clerk for the Judges of the Macomb County Circuit Court. He honed his legal and analytical skills for 8 years and was then chosen to accompany the Honorable George Caram Steeh as his law clerk when Judge Steeh was appointed to the Federal bench by President Bill Clinton as a member of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Mark continued in that position until the time of his death. Mark was forever grateful to Judge Steeh for having given him this opportunity.

In May 2000, Mark and Kathy moved to Milford Township. He loved the woods around their home and created a series of paths to enjoy every inch of their 6.5 acres. He proudly took family and friends on tours of the property in his John Deere Gator. He was a devoted, fanatical fan of the Cleveland Browns having followed them since childhood. He and Kathy were season ticket holders for 19 years. A great storyteller with a deep sense of the comic in the human experience, Mark always kept family and co-workers entertained with another Miller story. His quick wit and sense of humor were enjoyed by all who knew him.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Dymecki; step-father, Ray Riehl; brothers Ralph (Marla) and Jeffrey Miller; sisters-in-law Donna (Carl) Engstrom, Cindy (Jack) Andre; brothers-in-law David (Cecilia) Dymecki and Dan Dymecki; nieces Wendy, Mary, and Nikki Macey, Clare and Cassie Dymecki, Laura Andre, Trisha, Kristen and Michelle Miller; nephews Grant (Angela) Macey, Jeffrey (Jenni) and Bryan (Lori) Miller; Aunt Vicki Chi Chi (Paul) Jones and many dear friends.
