Obituary for Marsha Piltz McIntyre

Marsha Piltz McIntyre (nee. Jettke) passed away peacefully on January 7, 2019. She was 73 years old. Born in Detroit, Michigan on August 15, 1945, Marsha was the daughter of John and Monica (nee. Hodinka) Jettke. Marsha grew up in Detroit and graduated from Denby High School.

Marsha spent a short time living in Berkley, California with her first husband James Piltz. She returned to Michigan in 1968, residing in Southfield, which is where she married Duane McIntyre on October 24, 1978. The couple moved to Milford in 1979, where they lived for 20 years before relocating to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri for a couple years. A Michigan native - Marsha returned to the Highland area with her family where she has lived for the past 17 years.

Marsha was a proud foster mother of 12 children during the 1970’s, instilling in them and in her own children the importance of being loving, giving and accepting of others. She liked to travel. She spent time in Italy which included a visit to the Vatican and also traveled to Sweden. Marsha liked to knit and enjoyed painting. The time that she spent with her children and grandchildren gave her the most enjoyment in life. She loved everything and everyone and will be forever remembered as a woman with a generous heart and kind spirit, who treasured her family.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 40 years, Duane A. McIntyre; her children, Steve (Claudia) McIntyre, Dave (Lisa) McIntyre, Matt (Katreece) McIntyre, and Amanda (Dan) McClenaghan; grandchildren, Emma, William, Luke, Ariana, Jack, Kate, Averee, Knox, Duncan, Lucy, Ainsley, and Adaline; her sister, Sharon (C. Thomas) Ozark.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, James Piltz; her parents, John and Monica (nee. Hodinka) Jettke; and brother, Timothy (d. 1999) Jettke.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 3-9 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce Road, Milford on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:30 PM, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Msgr. John Budde to officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2265 Livernois, Suite 410, Troy, Michigan 48083.
