Obituary for Melissa Ann Allen

Melissa �Missy� Ann Allen, of Commerce Township, MI and Madison, IN, passed away in the loving care of her family April 15, 2015. She was 50 years old.

Born on November 25, 1964 in Madison, Indiana, Melissa was one of three daughters born to parents Arthur and Lyda Martin. Melissa and her sisters Robin and Diane were raised in the Madison community. Following her high school graduation, Melissa continued her education at Purdue University where she graduated with a degree in Speech-Language Pathology. It was also at Purdue that she reconnected with one of her childhood friends from Madison, Stephen Allen. The two soon fell in love and made plans to marry. They were blessed by the births of their daughters Amanda and Abigail. When Stephen�s work in the automotive industry brought them to Michigan, Stephen, Melissa and their young daughters moved to Commerce Township.

In addition to Stephen, her beloved husband of 24 years, Melissa is survived by their daughters, Amanda and Abigail. Also survived by her parents, Arthur & Lyda Martin; parents-in-law, Jerry & Susan Allen; sisters, Robin (Ray) Ferree and Diane (Ed) Yoke; brother-in-law Don (Sue) Allen as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, Michigan on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 4-9 PM.

Continued visitation will take place at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Dr., Madison, Indiana on, Monday, April 20 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held from Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1429 Clifty Dr., Madison, Indiana on Tuesday, April 21 at 11 AM, with gathering beginning at 9 AM. The Rev. Laura Meier to officiate. Burial at Fairmount Cemetery in Madison.

Memorial contributions encouraged to the International NUT Midline Carcinoma Registry, with checks made payable to "Dana-Farber Cancer Institute," memo: NMC, 10 Brookline Place West, Fl 6, Brookline, MA 02445 or to the American Cancer Society.
