Obituary for Michael William Robins

Michael W. Robins, a resident of Highland, MI, died on July 15, 2020. He was 64 years old.

Michael valued family above all else and he had a personality that was larger than life. He was kind and loving to his many friends and family members. Michael was a car enthusiast and shared this interest with his son, Michael.

Michael's passing is deeply felt in both his professional and personal life. Michael was employed by the Oakland County Sheriff Department from 1988-2015. During his career, he received many commendations for his service including:
May 1997, Special Commendation Award; May 2007, Professional Excellence Award; May 2009, Sheriff’s Distinguished Citation; August 2012, U.S. Marshals Directors Distinguished Unit Award; May 2014, Sheriff's Distinguished Unit Citation and numerous letters of appreciation from various police agencies and citizens of Oakland County. Following his retirement, Michael was employed with Oakland County Field Investigations from 2015-2020.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Robins (nee. Bowers, d. 2001) and is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Robins; children, Melissa Robins, Michael J. Robins, Marc Daniels, Robert Daniels, Joseph (Brittney) Mullen, Tonia (Ryan) Gilliam and Heather Moore; grandchildren, Ashlyn Daniels, Elijah Mullen, Jadon Mullen, Isaiah Mullen, Lilith Mullen and Braxton Moore; his sister, Sandy Bay-Mahrle and his brother, William (Robin) Robins as well as many extended family members and close friends.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Funeral Services will be held privately.
