Obituary for Morgan Nicole McGregor

Morgan Nicole McGregor, age 20 of Commerce Township, died suddenly on September 27, 2014.

Born on October 17th, 1993 in Southfield, Michigan, Morgan grew up in Commerce Township, where she attended Country Oaks Elementary and Oak Valley Middle School. After graduation from International Academy-West in White Lake she began her studies at Michigan State University where she had just began her senior year studying accounting in the Business School. Acceptance into the Accounting program was her proudest accomplishment.

Morgan faced some obstacles growing up, the primary of which was receiving a pacemaker in 2009. That didnt deter her from pursuing her dreams. Instead of slowing down, she sped up. Instead of reducing her student workload, she stayed at the IA and proudly graduated from a rigorous program of which she was so proud.

Morgan was a Girl Scout and gymnast. She was a Varsity Cheerleader at Lakeland High School as a freshman and sophomore, winning the Coaches Choice Award both years for dedication and spirit. Morgan had an adventurous spirit, and would try anything, including golf, skiing, tubing, parasailing and zip lining. She was a girls girl, loving fashion, jewelry, bows in her hair, and above all shoes!

She was a hard worker, a planner, a list maker, and was always determined and highly motivated to achieve her goals. She read voraciously, attended summer classes and worked hard for everything she had accomplished. She was one of the few selected for the Eli Broad Accounting Program and also honored to be selected as one of the schools business majors to serve as a clerk with the State of Michigan Department of Transportation. She also served as treasurer for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi, which she loved dearly.

Morgan was shy and sweet, loyal and true. More than anything, Morgan was a beautiful daughter, wonderful big sister and role model for her siblings. She touched many lives and will be missed by so many.

She leaves her parents, Renee and Michael McGregor; her brother, Michael R. McGregor; her sister, Lauren A. McGregor; grandparents, Robert Buchanan, Peggy & Ron Zimmerman, Jacqueline Johnson, Ernie & Kathy McGregor; great grandmother, Mary Vormelker; aunts & uncles, Shirley & Roger Buchanan, Robert Buchanan, Connie Hoyt, Cathy Hannaford, Christine McGregor, Roberta Daschke, Joe & Lorraine Cusumano, Art & Sue Daschke; cousin, Michael D. (Laura) McGregor and many, many loving friends.

Friends may gather at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Tuesday, September 30, from 2-9PM and on Wednesday, October 1, from 2-9PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce Rd., Milford, on Thursday, October 2, at 11AM.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Childrens Hospital of Michigan Foundation, Cardiology Unit, 3901 Beaubien, Detroit, MI 48201.
