Obituary for Norma Lee Adams

Norma Lee Adams, a long time resident of White Lake Twp., died at Huron Valley Hospital on February 5, 2012. She was 80 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Adams, Sr., a longtime Baptist minister, in 2004, and is survived by her sons, Robert L. Adams, Jr. and Barry W. Adams; grandchildren, Gwinna Adams & Ariel (Anthony Diem) Adams; her great granddaughters, Aurelia Lynn Willis and Ardynn Olivia Diem; sisters, Shirley (Don) Thomas and William (Lucy) Lipp and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Born on September 18, 1931, in Frankfort, Indiana, the daughter of Cleon and Dorotha (Reed) Lipp, she grew up in Frankfort where was the Valedictorian of her graduating class at Frankfort High School. On June 2, 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Lee Adams, in the First Baptist Church of Frankfort.

In January of 1970, she graduated with a degree in music education from Oakland University and went on to teach as a vocal music teacher in the Warren Consolidated School System for twenty-five years. She also served as organist and choir director at St. Luke�s Methodist Church in Rochester, and later as organist at the Milford United Methodist Church where she was very active. After church on Sundays she often filled the afternoon with good company and enjoyed opportunities to play music with family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Milford United Methodist Church, 1200 Atlantic St., Milford, on Monday, February 13, at 11AM with the Rev. Doug McMunn officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Sunday 12-5 PM. Memorials may be made in her name to the family or to America Sings!
