Obituary for Patricia Ann Schurman

Pat Schurman of Highland, died at home Monday evening, November 25, 2013, in the loving care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She was born on February 3, 1946 and passed at the age of 67.
Pat was raised in Farmington until her family moved to Livonia when she was 10. Although Pat & Russ went to the same school, it wasnt until their early twenties that their lives together would begin, first meeting at a restaurant. Their courtship grew into a lifelong marriage which began on April 10, 1970. As newlyweds they made their home in Westland, and were later blessed with the births of their daughter, Beth in 1971 and son, Michael in 1974. They moved to Highland in 1975, where they made many friends and memories.
Pat was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom, focusing on her children and maintaining the family home. She was very involved in many school activities at Spring Mills, Highland Junior High and Lakeland.
Pat was always a person you could speak with about your hopes and fears. She was such a good friend to many. In addition to home decor and lending her eye for interior design to family and friends, Pat also enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Pats love of her family was very evident in all the care she took with her husband, children, grandchildren and the extended family.

In addition to Russ, her beloved husband of over forty-three years, she is survived by her daughter, Beth; her son, Michael; grandchildren, Brooke and Brad. Also survived by her sisters, extended family members and dear friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Saturday, November 30, at 1 PM, with Pastor Brian Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM until time of service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.
