Obituary for Patricia Micallef

Patricia Micallef of Port Richey Florida left this earth peacefully on May 21, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was 71 years old. Pat was born in Detroit, Michigan to Vivian (Lane) and Robert Daunt.

Pat grew up in Port Huron Michigan and eventually met and married her true love, Vince Micallef, on November 7, 1959. Together they raised their two sons and three daughters in Farmington Hills and then in West Bloomfield. Once the kids were grown Pat and Vince moved to Commerce and then to Port Richey, Florida. Pat enjoyed traveling back and forth between Florida and Michigan with occasional stops in Las Vegas, where her mom Vivian lived for a few years before joining Pat and Vince in Port Richey.

Pat was known as a very caring and giving person. Without hesitation she spent considerable time with both her mom and Vinces mom in their later years. She enjoyed walking, leading aerobics classes as recently as the year before last, shopping, making strawberry jam and watching General Hospital.

As a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Pat was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed making incredible clothing items and gifts for her children, grandchildren and friends.

Anyone who knew Pat was aware that her passion, however, was being there for Vince. For 52 years Pat and Vince were inseparable, with Pat often providing advice for Vince on a regular basis.

Pat is survived by her husband Vince, her children Jeff (Pam), Theresa, Kathy (John) and Darlene (Rudy). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley and Jessie Micallef; Nick, Michele, and Rickey Magoteaux; Joseph and Jozsua Mekis; Michael, Jacob and Mataya Miller. She was preceded in death by her son Daniel.

Memorial Gathering will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty Street, Milford, on Thursday, May 31 from 4pm 8pm with a rosary service at 7:30pm. Mass of the Resurrection to be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce Road, Milford, Friday, June 1st, 11am. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon reception at St. Mary following the Mass.

While prayers and kind wishes are appreciated and more than sufficient, if desired the family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to either Hospice or St. Vincent DePaul.
