Obituary for Patricia Rae Eastwood

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Patricia Rae Eastwood. Patricia died the morning of June 2, 2022, at the age of 70 after a long-fought battle with Alzheimer’s. She passed peacefully in the house she made a home, surrounded by those blessed to live in it.

Patricia leaves behind Douglas, her husband of over 40 years. Also left to cherish her memory are two children, Matthew Eastwood (Christine) and Kelly Westover (Gerard), brother Dennis McGee and three grandchildren.

Pat or Patty as she was known to family and friends, was born in Bedford, OH. In 1980 Pat married the love of her life and moved to, Michigan. In 1988, she and her family moved to Milford where she stayed until her final days.

When her children were young, Pat left her corporate job for a much more impactful and meaningful job as a full-time wife, mother, and homemaker. “Mom” always put her family first and worked tirelessly to ensure they were cared for. She relished the role and there was no one better at it. In nearly two decades of her kids’ academic and athletic functions, she didn’t miss a game, meet, competition or ceremony.

Pat took great pride in how she kept her home, spending countless summer hours working in the yard while maintaining the spotless interior of the house. She loved sharing her home for an evening pinnacle, euchre or mahjong game with friends and everyone looked forward to the annual “canoe trips” and Christmas parties hosted at the Eastwood house.

She returned to work outside the home when her children were grown as a cashier for Home Depot. Her genuine likeability and work ethic made her a natural leader and she quickly rose into a departmental leadership role. Pat made everyone’s day better and brought a light-hearted attitude that made “work” a place people looked forward to going.

Pat’s smile was infectious, and she graciously shared her wit and positive outlook on life with all those lucky enough to meet her. We feel comforted knowing she is no longer suffering from the disease that took her mind too soon and that this beautiful person joins us in spirit, smiling once again.

Friends and family are welcome to join us for a celebration of Pat’s life on Thursday, June 23rd between 2 – 5pm at Bakers of Milford.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan.
