Patrick Lee McMullen, loving husband, father and dedicated businessman was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 12, 2010. It may seem to soon for such a vibrant young man so passionate about life to be called home, yet, none of us know the number of days we have here on earth. Patrick chose to live each day to the fullest in service to his family and clients. His greatest joy was spending time playing with, working along side and loving on his wife and children. His goal was to lead by example as he took an active role in homeschooling his children.

He graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1994 with a double Bachelor degree in Accounting and Computer information system. He founded Abacus Financial Services where he worked out of his home doing Tax and Accounting. Patrick was an avid Michigan Wolverine and Red Wings fan, but he enjoyed all forms of sports. He loved farming with his family and hunting morel mushroom in the spring. Every May he donned his British Red Coat and participated with his family in the Reenactment over Memoral Day weekend at the Fort in Machinaw City. Summers were spent canoeing the Sturgeon River or enjoying many of the inland and great lakes we have in Northern Michigan. In the fall he looked foward to harvesting the honey from "his ladies" the honey bees and filling the freezer for the winter with meat from all the animals we raised throughout the summer. Winters he was busy with taxes but always made time to enjoy our Northern Michigan winters by snowmobiling, sledding or play a spirited game of hockey with his kids and even learn to ski.
