Obituary for Pauline J. Wiese

Pauline J. Wiese, a resident of Commerce Township, passed away in the care of her loving family on December 11, 2016, at the age of 82.

Born July 7, 1934, in Cheboygan, Michigan, Pauline was one of three children born to parents Lucette (nee. St. Amand) and Lawrence Brasseur. The Brasseur family was very close and shared many family traditions. Pauline often spoke of her early childhood and her time spent attending elementary school in a one room school house in Afton, Michigan. Pauline's family moved from Afton to Saginaw, in the early 1940's and then later, Alpena, in 1948. Pauline attended Saint Ann's school and graduated from Alpena Catholic Central High School. Pauline earned Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees, in elementary education from Michigan State University. She taught second grade for over 35 years retiring from the Farmington Public School System. Jerry and Pauline raised their three sons in the Farmington Hills area and moved to Commerce Township after Jerry's retirement in 1991. The couple loved their cottage on Hubbard Lake, near Alpena, and enjoyed sharing it with their family. Pauline was a true intellect who loved to read everything. She enjoyed classic black and white movies as art. She was a wonderful cook. She loved her sister and brother Carol and Gary very much. She spoke with her sister every day, and she loved receiving post cards and letters from her brother Gary's many travels. She was a kind and loving mother who never spoke ill of anyone. Pauline was the matriarch of her family and will be deeply missed by all those with whom she shared her love and talents.
She was preceded in death by Jerry, her beloved husband of 57 years.

Pauline is survived by her sons, Michael, Bruce (Sally), Steven (Lisa); grandchildren, Ryan (Amy), Lauren, Jeremy, Emily, Elizabeth; great-grandchild, Winnie; sister, Carol Olson; brother, Gary Brasseur; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
