Obituary for Rachel Anne Corn

On Friday, July 16, 2021, Rachel Anne Corn, a resident of Commerce Twp. MI was unexpectedly taken from her parents, her siblings, her friends, and all who were privileged to have known her fierce love, faithfulness, and radiant beauty. Rachel was as sweet and kind as they come.

Born a short 22 years ago to Daniel and Linda Corn, Rachel grew up as the third child behind her siblings Rebecca and Andrew. Rachel looked up to her siblings immensely and loved following their lead and playing together. As a child, Rachel could often be found playing with her American Girl dolls and Build-a-Bears, dancing at Modern Messages Dance Company, and spending many summers swimming in Lake Sherwood.

Rachel attended Lakeland High School where she was an active member of the varsity golf team and DECA. After graduating from Lakeland High School in 2017, Rachel went to Grand Valley State University where she recently graduated with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration, studying Marketing and Supply Chain Management. During her time at Grand Valley, she was actively involved in Young Life and Campus Ministry.

Rachel was lovingly surrounded by her friends and family and built a solid community of relationships. Rachel radiated pure joy and beauty wherever she went. Her smile was infectious and her presence drew people in. Rachel loved getting coffee and sushi with her friends, going shopping, and talking on the phone. Rachel was someone who could always be counted on for a hug, a kind word, or just be someone there to listen. Rachel was such a beautiful person inside and out.

We will cherish and remember the 22 years we had with Rachel and look forward to a joyful reunion in Heaven. We will love you forever and always.

Rachel is survived by her parents, Daniel and Linda (nee. Chappel) Corn; siblings, Rebecca (Zach) Brummel and Andrew Corn; aunts and uncles, Mike (Beth) Chappel, Kathy (Kevin) Faragher, Debbie (Ken) Sulla and Jenni (Dennis) Wright; cousins, Hillary, Nick, Ericka, Zachary, Josh, Sydney and Allison as well as many dear friends and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert (Ann) Corn and Jerald (Carm) Chappel and her cousin, Sean Chappel.
