Obituary for Randy R. Godwin

Randall Roy �Randy� Godwin of Milford died on December 19, 2008. He was 50 years old. Born on April 27, 1958 in Detroit, he was the son of Robert R. and Ann M. (Hudson) Godwin of Milford. A 1976 graduate of Milford High School, where he ran cross country, Randy attended Central Michigan University where he studied Theater. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity. Randy enjoyed writing and entertaining those around him. He worked for years as a bartender at Hector and Jimmy�s, between movies and plays. He has appeared in numerous films, including Escanaba in da Moonlight, Postmark Paradise and many others, as well as the recently produced feature, Demoted, filmed in Milford. The play which he wrote, �Hope for Corky�, was produced and ran at the Purple Rose Theater in Chelsea. Randy was an avid fan of all of Detroit�s sports teams and loved his wide circle of friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews, who remember his kind heart, great humor, generosity of spirit and intelligence.
Randy is survived by his loving parents, Robert and Ann Godwin, his siblings, Cheryl (Larry Bond) Godwin, Robert, Rick (Rachel), Lora (Bill) Holcomb, Pamela (Frank) Fisher and many dear nieces and nephews and friends who join with his family in mourning his death and giving thanks to God for his life among them.

Funeral from Milford United Methodist Church, 1200 Atlantic St., Milford, Monday, December 22, 12 PM with Rev. Gregg Mayberry officiating. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, Sunday 3-9 PM. For further information please call 248-684-6645.
