Obituary for Raymond Edward McLeod

Raymond Edward McLeod, a resident of Milford, former resident of Taylor, Union Lake, and S. Pasadena, Florida, and retiree of the Detroit News Newspaper in Detroit where he worked for over thirty-nine years, died at home in the care of his family on January 24, 2019 at the age of 86.

He leaves Gail, his beloved wife of over sixty-one years, his children, Ray McLeod II (Cathy), Bob McLeod (Michele), Kim Prueter (Tim), and Jim McLeod (Lisa); grandchildren, Rachel, Cari, Drew, Michael, David, Tyler, Libbey, Emily, Maranda, Stephanie; great grandchildren, Charley, Hallee, and baby Weston on the way; also many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Brownell.

Ray was a Veteran of the Korean War, a devoted member and Vice President at Cedar Crest Lutheran Church in White Lake, served with Meals on Wheels for twenty-one years, and was a member of American Legion Post 158 in Treasure Island, Florida.

A Memorial Service will be held at Cedar Crest Lutheran Church, 485 Farnsworth Road, White Lake, MI on Friday, February 1, at 11AM with Rev. Kenneth Haupt officiating. Friends may gather from 10AM until the time of service. A luncheon will follow. Memorials may be made in his name to the church.
