Obituary for Rebekah Irene "Becky" Dykes

Rebekah Irene Becky Dykes, age 30, died on July 21, 2014 after a long illness.
Becky was born in Pontiac, Michigan on October 23, 1983, the daughter of Richard Trahey and Judy (Coull) Trahey. Growing up, Becky was active in Girl Scouts, Awana, a member of the WLMS State Champion Colorguard and Winterguard, and was the manager for her High Schools Wrestling team. She loved music, played the flute, was a whiz at Mathematics and numbers, but admittedly, a horrible speller. Becky was proud to be able to homeschool her daughter and was working to finish her accounting degree when she was diagnosed with cancer. She started her own business, Beckanys Books, and enjoyed shopping for good deals, garage sales, scrapbooking and collecting anything Disney.

Becky was an incredible mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, granddaughter and friend. She loved being with family, planning parties and almost never missed a family function. She always put others before herself and had a way of infusing laughter into any conversation and all of lifes turns. Becky had an incredible faith in God, and knew, as she always counseled others, God is in Control.

She leaves her daughter, Vanessa Robinson; mother, Judy Trahey; father, Richard Trahey; siblings, Sheila (Tim) LaBreche, Sarah (Michael) Bickel, Rich (Christie) Trahey, Chris (Amy) Trahey, Beth (Ben) Jacques; nephews and nieces, Jonathan, Hazel, Isaac, Anaiah, Naomi, Kayla, Trey, Cora, Rose and James; aunts and uncles, Anne Schniers, Jody and Bill Coull, Jeanie and Jack Coull, Tom and Marsha Trahey, Barb and Don Wilson, Don and Gail Trahey, Jack Henderson, Dorothy Wiittanen, Connie Calladine, Irene and Ken Wright and numerous cousins and dear friends who join her family in both mourning her passing and giving thanks to God for her life among them.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty Street, Milford, on Thursday, July 24, at 12 Noon with Pastor Tom Lewellen officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Milford. Friends may visit on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the Beckany Memorial Fund.
