Rexine May (nee. Kingsbury) Holbeck of Highland died at home in the loving care of her family. She was 90 years old.
Born August 8, 1920 in Flint, Michigan, Rexine was the 3rd of 10 children born to parents Rex & Mary (nee. Hammond) Kingsbury.
The couple moved to Highland Township in 1959. For 48 years, Rexine was a dedicated caretaker and owner of the adult foster care center located in the couple's home on N. Milford Road. Rexine married Ronald Holbeck on August 18, 1969 in Toledo, Ohio. Rexine & Ron will celebrate 41 years of marriage this month.
Rexine was good-hearted and always willing to help any one she could. Her strong spirit and character made her an exceptional caretaker and a devoted wife and mother.
Just as Rexine had done for others her entire life, Ron took special care of Rexine in her last months at their home. Rexine was well aware of his attention and presence and she felt the warm "smile of his heart."
Rexine was preceded in death by her parents Rex & Mary Kingsbury, son Keith DeMott, granddaughter Shirley DeMott, son-in-law Richard Smith, I & grandson Richard Smith, II.
Rexine is survived by Ronald her beloved husband of 41 years; children Lorraine Smith, Dennis DeMott, Norman DeMott, Harold (Mary) DeMott, Leon (Sherry) DeMott, Clara (the late Keith) DeMott; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Geraldine (Eddie) Grant & Irene Dustin; also extended family & dear friends.
