Obituary for Richard Lynn Wright

Richard Rick Lynn Wright passed away in the care of his family on January 4, 2015 at the age of 59.

Born in Detroit to a Kentucky family of two brothers (Danny and Dean) and one sister (Susie), Richard Rick Lynn Wright became continuously known as the Damn Yankee of the Wright family. He attended and graduated from Jared W. Finney High School and experienced the tumultuous inner city atmosphere and rocking industrial scene of the Motor City. Richard loved everything about vehicles, so much that he became a licensed master mechanic and worked for General Motors for over 32 years. Besides his love of cars, he married the love of his life (Patricia Wright) and had two beautiful children (Kristina and Sean). Along with his G.M. day job, Rick practiced carpentry and was known for his superior craftsmanship as exemplified by the amazing basement he created at home. He was a handy mans handyman. Some of his personal hobbies included making delicious dishes, attending the movies, listening to Motown, and of course restoring his 1971 black and synergy green SS Chevelle 454. Showing off his pride and joy at car shows brought a smile to his face and no one who ever saw the Chevelle could ever forget it. He was a tremendous father, husband, brother, and friend. Where ever he is at now is surely a better place for having him.

In addition to Patricia Patty Wright, his beloved wife of 23 years, Rick is survived by his daughter, Kristina Lynn (fianc Thomas Stephens) Wright and son, Sean Michael (fianc Karah Bradshaw) Wright; sister Sue (Jim) Banner; niece, Jamie Banner; nephew, John Yaczik, brother-in-law Thomas (Jeanine) Yaczik, mother-in-law Patricia Yaczik.

Rick was preceded in death his brothers Danny Wright and Dean Wright, as well as their parents, Stanley and Audrey Wright. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law John Yaczik, Sr. and brother-in-law John Yaczik.

Memorials contributions encouraged to the family.

Funeral Service will be held from Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit 12 Noon until time of service. Cremation will follow.
