Obituary for Robert Moses Zaleski

Robert Moses Zaleski, a resident of Troy, died on December 17, 2019 after a long battle with depression. He was 31 years old.

Driven. Perfectionist. Thrill Seeker. These are a few of the definitive qualities that made Robert the amazing man he was to so many people.

Sempre Famiglia. Robert came from a large family who loves to entertain. He made it known to all of his friends that there was always a place at the table for them should they have nowhere else to go; a trait his parents, Kevin and Lisa, instilled in him. He shared a love for music, the outdoors and animals with his younger siblings, Zachary and Sydney. His childhood was filled with countless weekends at his family’s lake house, holidays and gatherings full of laughter and love and lots of memories with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Robert Moses Zaleski was named after both of his grandfathers. He often went by both his first and middle name because he cherished his Greek, Italian and Polish heritage. After losing his mother Pamela at a young age, he strived to keep her memory alive through sharing stories about her and exploring his Greek roots through a love for food and cooking. His passion and knowledge of food led him to a successful career in helping others achieve a healthier lifestyle.

He maintained a chiseled physique and a million-dollar smile. From lending a helping hand or ear to those in need, to working on his cars, motorcycle and home, Rob always gave 100%. He had a jovial laugh, a GQ wardrobe and an impeccable taste for the finer things in life. He was a captivating storyteller and an equally great listener. Rob had an incredible gift for being able to talk to anyone about anything and make people feel comfortable in conversations.  He truly wanted to know who people were and what made them tick.

While are hearts are broken over the tremendous loss of Robert, we are comforted knowing that he is at peace and was welcomed into heaven by his sister, mother, grandparents and so many other angels who watched over him. Rest in peace, Robert. You will be greatly missed.

He leaves his parents, Lisa and Kevin; his brother, Zachary; his girlfriend, Taleen Najarian; uncles and aunts, Allen Zaleski, Donna Zaleski, David (Sue) Zaleski, Denise Staples, Rick Staples, Colleen (the late Jeff) Cornell, Robin (the late Nick) Ferrara, Kathy (Phil) Loch, Sandy (John) Ferrara, Mary (Jim) Stapleton, Paula Gianoplos; cousins, Jordan (Lauren) Zaleski, Megan Zaleski, Joe (Thomas Wucherer) Staples, Ryan (Jeannette) Cornell, Samantha (Michael) Wilker, Cassie (Anthony) Bosco, Andrew (Emily) Ferrara, Catie (Dane) Ferrara, Autumn Pizana, Kendra (Billy) Davidson, Sara (Zack) Michaels, Tony Ferrara., Erica (AJ Glidden) McNeely, Connor (Allie) McNeely, Lauren (Rick) Pesta, Leah (Adam) Mazza as well as many, many dear friends.
