Obituary for Robert Willard Wright

Robert W. Wright of Waterford, Michigan passed away quietly, surrounded by his loving family, on Sept. 3, 2011.
Bob, beloved husband of the late Martha, leaves behind his children Mary Ann (David) Baxter, Judith (Hector) Bueno, and Robert (Patty) Wright. He was the beloved grandfather (Pop) of Mark Bourgeau, Oliver (Marietta) Bourgeau and Ben (Lori) Bourgeau, Patrick Wright and Brittany (Matt McCraw) Wright. He is also survived by five beautiful great-grandchildren, Christy, Aiden, Ava and Mason Bourgeau and Caden McCraw.
Born on July 7th in 1924 to Renda Guileman and Charles Wright, Bob was raised in the Milford area. Upon graduating from high school, he entered the Navy and received his Wings of Gold at the age of 19. He was commissioned an Ensign in the Navy during WW2. It was during this time that he met his wife Martha at the Naval Air Training Center in Pensacola, Florida. Bob and Martha were married on October 29th, 1949. Upon leaving the Navy as a Lieutenant, Bob and Martha moved to Pontiac where he operated his own painting company. He had many loyal customers due to his diligent focus on detail and quality workmanship.
Bob was a member of the Waterford Senior Center, competitive bridge player, and bowler. Being an avid Radio Control enthusiast he won many awards throughout the years. He was an active member of the Pontiac Miniature Aircraft Club.
Bob loved good food, especially if it was cooked by his family.
His sense of humor, strength and kindness which he shared with all, will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
A private family service and interment will be held at Highland Cemetery.
A special thanks to Bobs personal care-givers; Ruth, Mary, Netta and Georgie who helped our family make his last year fun.
An exceptional thanks the Lake Orion Rehabilitation and Nursing Centers nursing aides and nurses who provided such considerate care.
Extraordinary thanks for the gift of compassionate care to McLaren Hospice; Ann, Tara, Dr. Yi and Adria.
The family suggests memorials and/or donations to the Waterford Senior Center
