Obituary for Roger Carl Voorheis

Roger Carl Voorheis, a long time resident of Milford, passed away on November 16, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was 82 years old.

Roger was born on March 26, 1938, the third child of Clare and Mae Voorheis. He grew up in White Lake Township, a member of the White Lake Presbyterian Church, graduating from Holly High School in 1956. He attended Flint Junior College for two years. He loved sports, especially golf, but played all types throughout his school years and his adulthood. He worked for General Motors in the Emissions Lab, retiring in 2000. After Roger met and married Kathy, they decided to live in Milford so they both became members of the Milford Presbyterian Church and he served as an usher for many years. He spent his retirement golfing in Florida and Michigan whenever he got a chance.

Roger loved his family and the home farm that he grew up on. His love encompassed not only his wife, daughters and grandsons, but his brothers and all of his extended family. He was looking forward to becoming a great-grandfather in February of 2021.

Son of the late Clare and Myrtle Mae Voorheis, Roger is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Kathleen; daughters, Kim (Don) Sinacola and Kerrie Voorheis; grandchildren, John (Rachel) Sinacola and Jake Sinacola; brothers, Ron (Mary) Voorheis and Cal (Karen) Voorheis; also many extended family and dear friends.
