Obituary for Ronald Gale Hammond

Ronald G. Hammond a resident of Milford, MI died, on October 12, 2020. He was 71 years old.

Ron was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. His career path brought him to the Detroit area. Eventually he was the owner/operator of a sign business, which he developed into a unique and successful operation. Ron established many meaningful relationships in the industry and became widely known as someone who could help engineer a project, make it more cost effective, or even make the seemingly impossible, possible. He was hard-working, honest and ethical. Ron sold the business in 2017 to pursue his other life interests, namely time with family, golf, and home projects.

Golf was Ron’s passion and he enjoyed many rounds over the last several years. Ron gained many dear friends through a common love of the game.

Ron’s warmth, love and friendship will be missed deeply by those who were lucky enough to have known him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Claire; children, Ron (Jodi) Hammond Jr., Scott Hammond and daughter, Melinda Rose (Zackary) Novicki; grandchildren, William Austin Hammond, Tyler Michael Hammond and Zachary Hammond; brother, Lester Hammond; sister-in-law, Laurie Jean Bratton; nephew, James Hammond as well as many close friends and extended family members.

The family is planning a celebration of life for Ron on June 12, 2021. We will also be celebrating the memory of Paul Novicki on that day. Paul was Zack’s father and a victim of the Covid-19 pandemic in April of this year. We look forward to honoring these cherished family members together next year.

Memorial Contributions are encouraged to the American Cancer Society.
