Obituary for Samuel Morse Deyo

Samuel Morse Deyo, age 82, died peacefully on Monday, October 6th, 2013 with loved ones by his side and was welcomed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.

Born on November 5th, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, Sam was the son of the late Henry E. Deyo, Sr. and the late Elise (Morse) Deyo. Sam was proud of being a direct descendent of Samuel F. B. Morse. He served his country with the U. S. Army in Korea with honor and regaled many with stories of his time there. He was an avid collector and always enjoyed telling stories to all who would listen. He never forgot his many friends with whom he kept in touch and to whom he often silently offered assistance. He was forever faithful in his Catholic heritage.

He will be sadly missed by many, especially his son, Donald; adopted grandchildren, Christine and Nicholas and close friend, Pat Kotsonas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry E. Deyo, Sr. and Elise (Morse) Deyo; sister Elise (Deyo) Girard; brother Henry E. Deyo, Jr; and his loving wife, Joan Frances (Kigar) Deyo.

Visitation will be be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford on Thursday, October 10th, 2013 from 9-10:30 AM, in procession to St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce St., Milford for a Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Fr.
