Obituary for Sharon Kay Clark

Sharon Kay Clark, a resident of Commerce, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with liver disease.  She was 71 years old.

Sharon was born on October 14, 1943 in Lansing, Michigan to Robert and Vivian Butler (nee. Kirchen).

Sharon graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Mathematics. She taught for over 25 years in several public schools in Oakland County including Farmington Junior High School, Lakeland High School and Milford High School.

Sharon met her husband, Bob, while a teacher at Farmington junior high school. She provided a caring, loving and supportive home for her family.  Sharon greatly enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking.  She had a fondness for the holidays, especially Christmas. She loved to travel, visit casinos, and spend time with family and her grandchildren. She was able to help build special memories with and for her grandchildren, taking all six of them together on vacation with her.  Sharon was proud to be an educator and had many friends in the teaching community.  She was a proud member of the ‘Unwelcome Club’ with her close neighbors in Lake Sherwood.  She also enjoyed her monthly pinochle night with many of her dear friends.

She was always loving, compassionate, considerate, and gave out far more than she ever asked in return.  Loved by many, she will be sorely missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; her loving children, René (Ken Kersanty) Clark, Craig (Alisa) Clark; her grandchildren aka “Lovebugs”, Noah, Emily, Uriah, A.J., Zachary and Ella (Gabriella); her dear sister, Sheila (the late Pete) McMillen.

She is also survived by many fellow teachers, neighbors, extended family and dear friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty Street, Milford, on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 3 PM.  Pastor Dave Chatel to officiate.  Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, October 1 from 4-9 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, one of Sharon’s favorite charities.   For further information please call 248-684-6645 or visit www.LynchFuneralDirectors.com
