Obituary for Shirley Elaine Hrlic

Shirley Elaine Hrlic died on Monday, October 2, 2017. She was 89 years old.

On December 5, 1927, Shirley was born in Detroit, Michigan to Burton Provonche and Elizabeth Tillman Provonche. She had two brothers and one sister. Shirley grew up in Detroit and graduated from Northwestern High School. She became a nurse’s aide and began working with babies, a love that never out grew her. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Frank Francis Hrlic, and she always thought he looked like Clark Gable, only better! They married on June 7, 1947 and became the mother of four children. She, then, devoted the rest of her life to her husband and children. She entertained with her love for cooking and music. Shirley loved the operas, symphonies, Christmas carols and the old gospel hymns. She was absolutely famous for her fried chicken, in which even the “Colonel” at KFC could not compare too! Also, she loved her embroidery. She loved it so much, all her children have enough pillow cases to pass on to the next generation! But, those pillow cases are a loving keepsake to pass on to her grandchildren.
In 1988, when in retirement years, Shirley and Frank moved to Florida and spent many years enjoying the fruits of their labor. They returned to Michigan in 2004 and settled in Farmington Hills, MI. At that time, Shirley became an example to her children on what a truly strong and loving person she was. She devoted all her strength and love taking care of her husband in his later years and never left his side. She was an amazing Godly woman who showed her children how to persevere, how to be strong, how to have unending compassion, and have long lasting patience for others.

She will be dearly missed by all that knew her, but we know she is where she belongs now and in Heaven dancing with Frank.

She was preceded in death by Frank, her beloved husband of over sixty-three years in 2011, and is survived by her daughters, Sharon (David) Carlisle, Elaine (Jack) Kennedy, and Shirley (fiance’ Dave Herbison) Tudor; her son, Frank (Helga) Hrlic; grandchildren, Kelly (Alex) Parsons, Kristin Carlisle, Kathryn (Aaron) Fanning, David (Shiloh) Carlisle, Jack (Carrie) Kennedy, Pamela (PJ) Stribling, Elizabeth (Beau) Grant, Mary (Lance) Kistler, Herbert (Lacey) Tudor, Christina (Joseph) Higgins, Lindsay (Jason) Kainia; step-granddaughters, Renee Richardson and Shelly (Brian) Ludtke; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Emma, Caroline, Kendall, Lucas, Ryan, Russell, Abigail, Jacob, Katie, Jake, Ariana, Alyvia, Frances, Rhett, Reid, MacKenzie, and a great granddaughter on the way; step-great grandchildren, Gabby, Grant, Liam, Benjamin and Abbey; sister, Margo Bahadurian; brother, Duane (the late Marguerite) Provonche; sister-in-law, Dorothy Provonche; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends that join her family in mourning her passing and giving thanks to God for her life among them. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Herb Tudor, and a brother, Burton Provonche.
