Obituary for Theodore "Ted" Paul Holloway

Theodore “Ted” Paul Holloway of Commerce Twp., MI, died peacefully at home with his lovely wife of 36 years, Kelly by his side. He was 79 years young.

Born on May 1, 1940 in Detroit, MI he was the only son of Ted and Elsie (nee. Baron) Holloway.  He spent his youth and teenage years growing up in Royal Oak, MI, where he was raised by his father, Ted and his step-mother, Gloria. After graduating high school from Royal Oak Dondero, Ted attended Wayne State University, where he was president of the Theta XI Fraternity. He went on to achieve his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and after graduating, worked as an auditor for T.I.C. In 1981 he left T.I.C. and started his own auditing company with his colleague, Steve Stefansky. In 2003, Ted retired, making Chuck Nichols the managing partner of Stefansky/Holloway and Nichols.

Ted's hobbies throughout his life included coaching Little League, bowling, taking family vacations, cruises and solving crossword puzzles. His first love was his wife, Kelly but his second love was playing blackjack in Las Vegas. He played in many blackjack tournaments and was incredibly skilled at the game. It was his passion.

Ted raised two boys, Teddy and Justin and he would tell you they were his greatest accomplishment. He also really enjoyed his grandchildren, especially the fact that they lived on the other side of the state, LOL!

He was a devoted member of the Milford Presbyterian Church and for a number of years he volunteered as the church treasurer. He had a deep faith and would tell you he lived a complete, full life where he lived by his own set of rules. It was a life well lived.

Ted is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kelly; sons, Ted Holloway and Justin (Breanna) Weal; grandchildren, Ashley, Alec, Nicholas, Sophia and Ella; second cousins, Renae and Heather Hrabak as well as many close friends, extended family members and his beloved church congregation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Elsie Holloway (d. 1986); step-mother, Gloria Holloway (d. 2003) and his cousin, Norma Hrabak.

Visitation will take place at Lynch And Sons, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Friday, January 03, 2020 from 3:00PM - 8:00PM.

Funeral Services will be held at Milford Presbyterian Church, 238 N. Main St., Milford, on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00AM with Pastor Bryant Anderson officiating. Friends may gather at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service.
