Obituary for Thomas Daniel Eby

Thomas Daniel Eby, a resident of White Lake, formerly of Union Lake and Detroit, died peacefully at his home on Friday, May 27, 2011. He was 74 years old.
Born in Detroit on July 18, 1936, the son of Edwin & Mary (Ricza) Eby, Tom was raised in Detroit and graduated from St. Leos High School. Years following his graduation, Tom enlisted in the United States Army near the end of the Korean Conflict. At the onset of the Cuban Missile Crisis his remaining term of service was extended in the reserves, marking six years of service to his country. Tom returned home to Michigan and began work with Hudsons department store where he met Pamela Stricker, the love of his life. On June 6, 1964, Tom & Pam were married at St. Williams Catholic Church in Walled Lake. The newlyweds made their first home in Detroit before settling in the Milford and Union Lake area to raise their daughters, Penny and Heather. Following work with Hudsons, Tom enjoyed success in his career as a Pharmaceutical Representative for over twenty-six years. Away from work he enjoyed cooking and reading and hungered for knowledge in all areas of intrigue, especially history. He was comfortable in the spotlight and well known for his beautiful voice which, as lead, could be heard in the Barbershop Quartet he sang with. Above all, Tom was grateful for the forty-seven years of marriage that enriched his life with the gifts of love and family.

In addition to Pamela, his beloved wife of 47 years, Tom is survived by his daughters, Penny (James) Rybarczyk, Heather Fisher; grandchildren, Allison and Abby Rybarczyk, Brittany Holben; sister, Peggy (Bill) Szafranski; brothers, Edwin (Mary Lou), James, David (Julie) and Terry (Mary Jane); many nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin & Mary and his brother, Donald.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of The Holy Spirit, 3700 N. Harvey Lk. Rd., Highland, Wednesday, June 1st at 10AM with Fr. Leo Lulko officiating. Burial Commerce Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, Tuesday 2-8PM. Rosary Tuesday 7PM. Memorials encouraged to Angela Hospice. For further information please phone 248-684-6645.
