GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Thomas Michael Nesbitt, 75, of White Lake, died on August 2, 2016.
Tom was born on July 23, 1941 in Pontiac, Michigan, the oldest of four children to William Franklin and Mary Ellen (nee. Lynch) Nesbitt. After graduation from St. Frederick High School in Pontiac, Tom attended Olivet College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in art, later became a Trustee and gained numerous friendships that lasted throughout the years. Each year the Olivet group had an annual reunion and they remained close friends. Tom was a hard worker and he always did everything to his best ability. His eye for detail and meticulous nature suited him well for his career as an art teacher. He often reflected fondly over the diverse friendships he made throughout his life, especially from his time at Olivet, those he fished and hunted with and the students he taught at Catholic Central. For over thirty five years, Tom devoted his life to the Catholic Central art program where he was able to create and expand the program. He was proud of the many talented students he was able to mentor and loved to display their art in his home. Mutual friends introduced Tom and Carol and the couple married on May 6, 1994. It was a marriage that blended both of their families of two children and numerous grandchildren, with love. Tom was caring and strong-willed— he believed in doing good and always doing the right thing. He was a gourmet cook, loved to read and work in his yard and garden.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty two years, Carol Nesbitt; his daughters, Michele (Dominique) Westlake and Monica Ramos; step-children, David (Terrie) Ward and Cathy (Paul) Rice; grandchildren, Alixandra, Nicolette, Isabella and Sofia Ramos, Lucian, Anastasha and Natalia Ward, Jacob Rice; sister, Betty (the late Richard) Huntley; brother, Brian (Laura); sisters-in-law, Beverly (Richard) McDonald, Shirley (Ken) Russell and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 1-7 PM, with a Rosary at 6 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Parish, 9086 Hutchins Road, White Lake on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Burial All Saints Cemetery, Waterford.
