Obituary for Thomas Tom Noone

Tom Noone of Fenton & formerly of Milford died on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. He was 58 years old.

Tom was born in Detroit in 1952, the first son of Jerome and Margaret Noone. Tom spent his first ten years of life in the city, and in 1962 the family bought a house in Milford and moved there for the birth of Tom's brother Warren. Growing up and throughout his life, Tom was an avid reader and loved history. Many people considered him to be the smartest man they knew. As a teenager he enjoyed sports as a player on the high school basketball team, and as a player on a traveling hockey team, which regularly crossed the river to play against teams in Ontario. Tom was an excellent skater and his love for hockey continued throughout his life. He graduated from Milford High School in 1970 and shortly thereafter went to work at Numatics incorporated, where he worked for 35 years.

In 1980, Tom married his one and only love in life, Charlene, and started a family. An exceptionally compassionate, generous and caring man, he adopted Charlene's son Aaron, 4 at the time, and raised him as his own. Tom and Charlene had a second son, Andrew, in 1981. Known for his strong work ethic and devotion to his family, in 1986 Tom built a house in Fenton, working nights at Numatics and working on the house during the day. In the spring of 1987 the family moved there, where they remained for the duration of his life. Tom always put his family's needs before his own and he worked ceaselessly to give them the life he thought they deserved.

In 2008 Tom went back to school and excelled in his studies, and became a close friend and father figure to his younger classmates. Everyone was welcome in his home, and all who knew Tom knew the generous, funny, intelligent and inspiring person he was. He could make anyone laugh, and his good humor and gentle, kind nature touched the lives of everyone he met. Tom had an abundance of love in his heart, and he shared that love with the world and everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his irreplaceable personality, his generosity and compassion, his tireless devotion to his family and his love for the simple pleasures in life that can be found in family and good friends.

He is survived by his loving companion Charlene; sons, Aaron & Andrew; mother, Margaret Peggy Noone; brother, Warren (Kathy) Noone; niece & nephew, Alana & Sean Noone, and many dear friends that join the family in mourning.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Noone (d. 2002)

Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford on Monday, January 17, at 1 PM. Reverend Terry Claus to officiate. Visitation will be Sunday 1:30-8 PM and Monday 10 AM until time of service. Private family burial at Milford Memorial Cemetery.
