Obituary for Timothy David Miller

Timothy David Miller, 63, of Milford, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Valerie for 35 years, loving father of Barbara Miller and Abigail Miller. Dear brother of Gail Schwalbe (Robert) and Michael Setterington (Tina).

Timothy was born in Highland Park, Michigan on July 27, 1958 to the late Gilbert and Lois Miller.  He grew up in White Lake, Michigan and graduated from Walled Lake Central High School.  While in high school he played first trumpet in the band and was also a gymnast and still possibly holds a state record in track and field. As a young man he loved to slalom water ski, and was well known to pull out his homemade cannon on 4th of July and New Years to celebrate with a bang.  His zest for life and his hard work ethic led him down many paths in life, including a full remodel of his childhood home, which led to the purchase of the farm (he ran out of projects).  A true jack-of-all trades, Timothy was a man that wore many hats, and still found time to be a wonderful husband and father to his family.

He had a love for animals which he shared with his girls, that brought him not only multiple dogs, but horses and goats as well.  He cared for all of them. He enjoyed watching Barbara grow in competition with horses, and Abigail in sports. He was so proud of his girls.  He taught them all the things a Dad could teach and always cherished his time with them taking them on trail rides with the horses, being a “Show Dad” at competitions or being there to watch and cheer at swim meets.

Timothy married Valerie on January 30, 1987.  Over his years in life, Timothy did so many things, sometimes congruently, that co-workers often called him “Timmy Two Squirrels” as he did the work of two people, always.  He spent time as a high-rise window washer, managed a cinema, worked for a mortgage company, was a volunteer firefighter, served as a medic for the Union Lake Hawks PeeWee football, worked as a scare actor at haunted houses, but most of all, he truly enjoyed being a truck driver, hauling heavy equipment.  When he wasn’t working or spending time with family, Timothy was a huge fan of Star Trek, loved going to the Renaissance Festival, hitting up the State Fair and the 4H fair with family every year, and enjoying the outdoors with his animals.  He had an amazing laugh, beautiful green eyes, and was well respected by all who knew him.  Timothy will be greatly missed.

Cherished uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Step-father of four and step-grandfather of eight.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:00pm at Bakers of Milford 2025 S. Milford Rd, Milford, MI 48381.
