Obituary for Wendy Lynn Reichenbach

Wendy Lynn Reichenbach, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

Wendy was born on July 20, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Richard and Virginia Williams.   She grew up in Madison Heights, Michigan and received her Associate Degree from Oakland Community College in Respiratory Therapy.  She married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Reichenbach, on September 15, 1990 and started a family.

She worked at Borden’s Milk and Dairy before and during college where she met life-long friends. After college Wendy worked in respiratory therapy in hospitals for over 45 years and was well respected in her field.  She worked in the pulmonary rehabilitation area for the last few years.  She started out at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. In 1987 she was recruited to work at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. After meeting Bob, she moved back to the Detroit area and started work at Providence Hospital in Southfield and then spent over 30 years at Huron Valley Sinai Hospital DMC) in Commerce, MI.   She was extremely devoted to her profession.

Wendy loved being a wife and mother.  Family brought her the greatest joy.  She loved life, she was always happy, and was the consummate entertainer, always finding ways to get people together.  She loved the outdoors, being on the beach, hiking, spending time on Lake Michigan, and going on ski trips with her family to the Petoskey area in Michigan as well as trips out west to Utah, Colorado and Washington.  Some of her favorite trips were going to Florida (many times) and going to Hawaii and the Caribbean.   She also loved her cats, driving around in her Mini Cooper, and going to concerts, especially seeing Rod Stewart in Las Vegas a couple of years ago.

Most of all, Wendy loved her family.  Her children were the most important thing in the world along with Bob.  She adored them, and absolutely loved being a mother.   She will be greatly missed by not only family, but by many colleagues and many friends as well.

Beloved wife of Bob Reichenbach for almost 32 years.  Loving mother of Robert (R.J.) and Alan Reichenbach.  Dear sister of Cindi Truman (Bob), Teri McMahon, Stacey Williams, Shawnee Bennett, Christel Ebel, and the late Richard Williams and the late Eric Williams.  Also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary R. DeGroot, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 2:00-8:00pm, and on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 404 E. Liberty St. Milford, MI 48381.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 12:00pm.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to the American Lung Association in Wendy’s memory.
