Obituary for William David "Bill" Nicholson

William "Bill" Nicholson, of Waterford, died on Thursday, March 22, 2012. He was 47 years old.

Bill was born October 6, 1964 in Malden, Massachusetts, to parents David and Mary (nee Martin) Nicholson. At a young age Bill was introduced to the art and skill of sailing. He and his father would sail the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, and as an adult Bill sailed various bodies of water in Michigan.

Bill graduated from the University of Maryland where he majored in Finance. He excelled in computers and would help tutor fellow students. Bill was fiercely independent, and his brilliant mind allowed him to be. He was an avid reader of various genres.

Bill loved the open road just as much as the open water. His motorcycle saw many miles of country roads throughout Maryland and Michigan. He enjoyed cards games and he proved best at euchre and poker.

He will be remembered as a gentle man that cared for everyone. Bill was selfless in every sense of the word and was helpful to his friends and family at a moments notice. He touched everyone�s heart through his acts of kindness, sense of humor, and delightful smile.

Survived by his parents, David Nicholson and Mary Carafa; sister, Linda (Joe) Keller; and his nieces he adored, Nora and Natalie Keller.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 East Liberty St., Milford, on Saturday, March 31, at 4 PM. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home as early as 3 PM until the time of service.
