William “Bill” J. Keiser, a longtime resident of Milford, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2016.
Bill was born on June 14, 1937 in Waukon, Iowa, the fourth child of five to William and Thelma (nee. Webb) Keiser. Following graduation from Milford High School in 1955, Bill attended General Motors Institute (GMI) and earned a degree in engineering. He met the young Jean Diebel on a double date and the couple married on June 10, 1961 at the old St. Mary's Church in Milford. They raised their family in Northville and moved to Ohio for a brief time before returning to Milford, where Bill was the treasurer of his homeowners association for over ten years. Bill worked as a sales engineer for the automotive industry until his retirement in the late 1990's. He enjoyed the campground in Grayling, the outdoors and golfing. In early retirement, he loved tinkering and fixing golf carts at Camp Dearborn. Bill will be fondly remembered for his love of life, quick wit and gregarious nature.
He was preceded in death by Jean Keiser, his wife of forty two years in 2003, and three sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Tina (Edward) Boyle and Sue (Susie Reed) Keiser; son, Tim (Ruth Williams) Keiser; grandchildren, Matthew (Taylor Harris) and Jessica Boyle; loving companion of eleven years, Chris Herwick; brother, Edward (Karla) Keiser, as well as extended family members and dear friends.
